My name is Shawana Jamal, and this is my sixth year at Al Manar Weekend School. I hold an Associate’s Degree in Child Development and have taught preschool and kindergarten classes at an Islamic school in Austin, TX, for four years. Nine years ago, I received a certificate to teach the Quran with Tajweed (Ijazah), Alhamdulillah. It has been my dream to learn the Quran and teach it to others. Teaching is a tremendous responsibility, and I will do my best to ensure that each student has a motivating learning experience throughout the year.
